In my home, the Mage Consul is the highest-ranking title given to a mage. A Mage Consul acts as a consultant to Her Majesty the Queen, while occasionally acting as a diplomat to other nations, overseeing and enforcing law wherever magic is concerned, and always studying magic.

...It all sounds more exciting than it is. Really.
